What to do if my wood wick keeps flaming out?
If your wood wick isn't staying lit, it could mean that your wick is either too long or too short.
Ensure a proper burn by trimming your wick. Pinch off burnt bits with your fingers or a small tool like a nail clipper.
Why is my flame flickering?
If your wood wick flickers, shrinks, or extinguishes, a timber glitch may be the cause.
Some wood wicks can take a few goes to get started. A few relights may be required but once lit, it should burn well.
How can i stop my candle from tunnelling?
The candle may tunnel if the flame is extinguished too soon, resulting in wax forming a 'tunnel' around the edges. This hinders the candle's complete burning and could lead to lighting issues. To prevent this, ensure the entire top layer turns to liquid wax before extinguishing.
I've tunnelled my candle! What can i do now?
Calm down if you are stress, accidentally creating a 'tunnel' around your candle is no big deal. There's an easy fix if you have accidentally create a 'tunnel' in your candle. You just need an aluminium foil wrapped around the sides and top of the tin, then poke a hole to light the wick. This will create an oven inside the candle for the edges to melt down.
How can i reuse my tins, how do i clean them?
Good question, all of our tins can be reused or recycle as it is more sustainable and environment friendly. To properly clean your tins, first you'll want to eliminate any excess wax inside the jar. Heat up the tins in simmering water to melt the wax, toss the wick, add water, let it solidify, use a forK to remove the block, then scrub with soap and water.
Perfumes
Why is the scent different after a week or two?
It is advised that you leave your perfume inside a dark and cool storage such as your drawer or cupboard and let it macerate as the smell will be much stronger and last longer.
How do i know which perfume is right for me?
It depends on the occasion and where are you going. In perfume, there are certain descriptions given to a fragrance. For example, you may have heard of Eau de Parfum (EDP), Eau de Cologne (EDC), and Eau de Toilette (EDT).
The difference is the concentration of oil found in them. For EDP, the oil concentration is between 8% and 15%.
For EDC, on the other hand, the oil concentration is between 2% and 4%. In the case of EDT, the concentration is between 4% and 8%. Oil concentrations also vary for perfumes (15% to 25%) and aftershaves (2% to 4%).
What Are Notes in a Perfume?
You may have heard people referring to this when buying perfumes locally or online. Notes are a perfume's individual element. This can be lemon, sandalwood, rose, cedarwood, flowers, woods, spices, and herbs used in producing fragrances.
These can be combined to produce scents, thus creating harmonies in a fragrance. Perfumery-related terms are somewhat the same as those related to music.
These different notes are also where personalities and scents meet. If you’re daring and adventurous you might go for something with spices, whereas a soft natured person might be drawn to softer scents too.
How Do I Apply My Chosen Scent?
